* All proceeds support the Bard Tango Club.
* All ages are welcome.
* No partner necessary.
BEGINNER SERIES I & II — Tango Fundamentals
This series teaches concepts of tango, basic movements and connection. This includes understanding of how one’s frame, center and axis work within the dance as a lead/follow.
The class introduces the fundamental tango vocabulary of walking, the cross, basic turns, cross/parallel system, musicality and close embrace. The emphasis is on learning how to make a connection with your partner while executing basic movements on the social dance floor.
INTERMEDIATE SERIES
This series focuses on techniques of lead/follow while introducing more complex combinations. We will explore the movements that are generated using one another’s momentum. The class introduces boleos, ganchos, volcadas, sacadas and other combinations. The emphasis is on cultivating creativity and finding one’s own interpretation of the dance.
GUIDED PRACTICA
An informal space for dancers of all levels. The practica is a place to work on your dance in a relaxed atmosphere, where people can really focus on balance, combinations of movements, connection and musicality in their dance. Chungin Goodstein is available for individual guidance if you need help.
