In her non-tango life, Chungin has been Communications Director for The National Teach-in on Global Warming Solutions, where she co-directed a series of national, educational events on climate change. She helped engage over 1900 colleges, universities, high schools and faith communities, and close to a million students, receiving media coverage in over 1000 outlets nationwide, including The New York Times, Business Week, Forbes and USA Today.
Chungin was the founder and first Board President of the Korean American Citizens League, steering the organization through its first two years of development into a vibrant Oregon-based civil rights advocacy organization. Chungin holds a masters degree in Public Administration from Portland State University, and an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts from the Pacific Northwest College of Art. She has served on the President’s Board of Visitors supporting diversity efforts at the Oregon State University, and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Education for Global Warming Solutions. |
